Trademark Usage Guidelines

You may use a Goletas trademark or product name to refer specifically to such Goletas product in marketing and promotional materials, books, conferences, applications, demonstrations and so on. You are permitted to use a Goletas trademark referentially provided that you adhere to the following:

  1. Do not use any Goletas trademark as your trademark, service mark, trade name, domain name, product name, or logo. Goletas trademarks identify the goods and services of Goletas. No third-party may use any Goletas trademark as their trademark, service mark, trade name, domain name, product name or logo. You must have your own distinct trademark, service mark, trade name, domain name, product name or logo that does not include any Goletas trademarks. You may, however, referentially use the Goletas trademark in connection with your product.
  2. You may not shorten or abbreviate any of Goletas' trademarks.
  3. Your product name may not be confusingly similar to any of Goletas' trademarks.
  4. Reference to the Goletas trademark may not be the most prominent visual element on your product or service. Your company name and/or logo, your product or service name, and your graphics should be significantly larger than the reference to Goletas' trademark.
  5. Your use may not directly or indirectly imply Goletas' sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement of your product or service.
  6. Your use may not be obscene or pornographic, and may not be disparaging, defamatory, or libelous to Goletas, any of its products, or any other person or entity.

  7. Always capitalize the product name and designate the trademark with the appropriate ™ or ® symbol. The first usage or most prominent usage of a Goletas product name must be used in conjunction with the Goletas™ trademark and in the same type size, font, color and line.

    1. Goletas Screen Capture™ is loaded with features... (INCORRECT: Screen Capture is loaded with features...)

  8. Always use Goletas trademarks as adjectives that describe the generic product. A trademark is an adjective to be used with the noun it modifies and should never be used as a possessive or in the plural form.

    For example:

    1. Goletas Screen Capture™ makes it easy to take screen snapshots.
    2. ABC software for use with Goletas Screen Capture™ software.
    3. The functionality of Goletas Screen Capture™ software... (INCORRECT: Goletas Screen Capture™'s functionality...)

  9. When you refer to a Goletas trademark, please include the following notice of trademark attribution where appropriate, such as on your product, printed materials, and online:

    [List of marks used, with "Goletas" first, if used, followed by other Goletas marks used, in alphabetical order] are trademarks or registered trademarks of Goletas in the United States and/or other countries.

Specific Trademark Usage Guidelines

  1. You may not use any Goletas logos without a trademark license from Goletas. All usage of trademark logos shall be pursuant to these guidelines and any other guidelines associated with that logo.
  2. You may not manufacture, sell, or give away merchandise items, such as t-shirts and mugs, bearing Goletas trademarks or logos, except pursuant to an express written trademark license from Goletas.
  3. You may not use or imitate a Goletas slogan or tagline such as "striving for supreme optimization."
  4. Goletas product icons are the thumbnail size images indicating that a Goletas product has been installed on your operating system. Use of our icons is permissible in training manuals or documentation written for and/or about a Goletas product. In such cases, use of Goletas icons must be specific to the function of the icon within the Goletas software and not used as a graphical element or design for your own purposes. Further, icons cannot be modified or altered and must appear as they would within the Goletas software. In other instances Goletas does not generally allow the use of product icons by third parties in their materials.
